[edit] I was tagged, you might be too.[/edit]
I am aware that has been a month and a half since I have last posted. This is partially because it takes too much effort to create the pictures, upload them, and add them to the post. Next layout I make, I am going to get rid of that and just make it easy to post my ramblings and thoughts. The other part to this is because I have lately become uninterested in my site.
I know. I thought it would never happen to me. I haven’t made a new layout in at least a month, and all of the graphics I make are just messing around for Deviantart or Tumblr. I always thought that that would bother me, but I actually don’t mind. More people see what I make there than if I were to post it to here anyway. Am I going to just let this site go and not renew it? Hell no. It costs a little under a dollar a month to renew it, so why not? Who knows if one day I’ll just decide that I want to get all gung-ho about creating premades and resources for people again. Besides, a lot of my site friends have gone, too… there’s hardly anyone left to talk to
I had written a post on my iPod while in DC for The Fault in our Stars Tour with John and Hank Green. I didn’t have internet there though, so the draft is probably still on my touch. Oh well, perhaps I’ll upload it sometime? I remember being really bored and really annoyed with the girl next to me who had no concept of personal space. She was practically on top of me the entire time. She said sorry the first time and I told her it was ok, but that doesn’t mean that it’s ok for her to keep doing it the entire bloody night! -_- Whatever. Totally worth it. I have a signed poster and book from John and Hank, and it was amazing getting to meet my favorite author. If you’ve ever read the “about me” section on the site, I specifically mention how much I love John Green. Well on January 13, 2012, I got to finally meet him. So exciting. I went with my best friend and her best friend and it was just a lot of fun. (minus that one girl and the waiting).
The past time that I have been gone has been filled with work, school, and friends. That’s correct. I have finally started school again. I’m really glad to be back, although I now remember what it was like to NOT want to go to school
Oh well, the grass is always greener, right? Plus, I’m making new friends this semester, which is a big improvement over the last semester I went. I’m generally really shy and awkward, so I’m proud of myself for actually talking to people and getting to know them. I’m even Facebook friends with some of them, which you know means that it’s real friendship
As for my old friends, I’ve been seeing them a lot too. I got to hang out with my friend, Brittany who I haven’t hung out with since this summer. We went to the mall and I ended up spending too much money (shock shock). We ate dinner at the restaurant I used to work at – the first time I had been back there in the 6th months since I’ve been fired. It was nice to see everyone, but there were soooo many new faces. Ahh salad bar. Yeah. I hated working there. I also went out to eat and shop with my friend Kara a few weeks before that.
Last Friday, I went up to visit Mal and Kara with my friend Emily. Em, Mal, and I all went to see The Vow because Channing Tatum is gorgeous (as is Rachel McAdams) and it was a really good movie. Who cares if it’s a major chick flick? Go and see it. For sure. We spent the night and got on omegle quite a bunch. Interesting people out there… haha.
My thoughts on Valentine’s Day
I actually have to work tonight. It’s like my boss KNEW to schedule me because I didn’t have a significant other. It’s not a big deal really, other than the fact that I don’t feel like working.
I am one of those people who don’t find Valentine’s Day to be a big deal. I personally believe that people shouldn’t need one day to show their love for others, but should be showing it every day. Why not buy someone a card saying you love them on July 15th? You don’t love them anymore today than any other day, so I just find it pointless to have a whole holiday dedicated to it.
That being said, I still think it’s nice. Even if I find the holiday pointless, doesn’t mean I think you are horrible for celebrating it. Like I said, you should be showing your love everyday, so there’s nothing wrong with showing it today, also. The problem lies with people making such a big deal out of it “oh, I’m single. My life is over. Why does no one love me?” No one loves you any other day… so why do you care more just because it’s February 14th? That’s just dumb.
What really gets to be annoying are all the people getting worked up over it. Whether they are super into it or super against it, it’s all just really annoying. I decided not to look at Facebook for the rest of the day because I was just fed up with people not just giving their opinions, but doing so in a rude and malicious way. They were basically tearing other people down, and that’s just ridiculous. So needless to say, I think Valentine’s Day is more problems than it’s worth. But whatever, I got chocolate from my mommy and daddy. I know I’m loved.(:
And you’re loved, too! At least by me. haha.
